<![CDATA[Support Your Community & Raise Awareness]]>Wed, 17 May 2017 19:25:07 GMThttp://openingnewdoors.org/news/we-need-your-help
Domestic violence as a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner.

This includes
any behaviors that intimidate, manipulate, humiliate, isolate, frighten, terrorize, coerce, threaten, blame, hurt, injure, or wound someone. This not only affects the intimate partner but strongly affects children as well.
Opening New Doors is a new local Nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that provides support, therapy and resources to women and children who are escaping an abusive home right here in Clarksburg, Damascus and Mt. Airy. Currently, we are starting groups as well as individual therapy.

Services are offered by a licensed therapist. Our goal is to be able to open a transitional housing facility where we can house women and children while they are receiving support and helping them get back on their feet.

We need the support of our community to make our mission a reality. This is a time where funding is scarce, but domestic violence is an ongoing to many victims, including children.

Please consider donating now!
<![CDATA[Seeking Meeting Space]]>Wed, 10 May 2017 17:11:19 GMThttp://openingnewdoors.org/news/seeking-meeting-space
We are currently seeking a large group room (possibly in a church or medical setting) for us to be able to facilitate group therapy. If there are additional rooms which could be used for individual therapy that would be wonderful. If you would consider donating a space for us to use, while we work towards the larger goal of our own facility, you would be helping us improve many lives.

If you have a meeting space please email us by clicking the button below. Thank you
